Therapy For Residents Of Forest Hills, MI

Choosing therapy takes real courage. In my practice, I've created a space where you can gradually lower your defenses — where the difficult realities of your life can be named without judgment, so that genuine healing can begin. I don't see you as broken. I see someone whose wholeness has been covered over by protective layers, coping strategies, and fears that once kept you safe but now hold you back. Together, we make room for your authentic self to emerge.

I offer specialized, trauma-informed therapy to adults in Forest Hills, MI — just a short drive from my Northview office off the East Beltline. Whether you'd prefer to meet in person or by secure telehealth, you have options that fit your life.

Serving the Forest Hills Community

Forest Hills sits just east of Grand Rapids, and my office is an easy drive up the Beltline — close enough that in-person sessions are genuinely convenient, whether you're coming from the Ada Township side, near the Forest Hills school district, or anywhere in between. For clients who'd rather not make the drive, or who simply prefer the comfort of their own space, I also offer telehealth throughout Michigan (as well as Florida and Arizona). Many Forest Hills clients mix the two — coming in person when it suits them and meeting virtually when life gets busy.

What stays constant either way is the work itself: a calm, non-judgmental space to understand what you've been carrying and to actually heal it, not just manage it.

How I Can Help

I work with adults navigating a range of challenges, and my approach is always to get to the root rather than only treating the surface.

Trauma and PTSD. Whether you're carrying a single distressing event, complex trauma, or developmental trauma from childhood, I help you process what happened in a way that feels safe — so the past stops controlling your present. Trauma lives in the nervous system, not just the mind, which is why body-based approaches reach what talk therapy alone often can't.

Anxiety. For the racing thoughts, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and that constant on-edge feeling, we work to calm your nervous system and address the deeper patterns driving the anxiety — not just quiet the symptoms.

Childhood emotional neglect and emotionally unavailable parents. If you grew up feeling you had to earn love, manage everyone else's feelings, or never quite measure up, we untangle those early patterns and help you build genuine self-worth.

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy. If you're an ADHD or autistic adult, my work is about helping you stop masking and live authentically — working with how your brain actually functions, not against it.

Substance abuse and addiction. I treat the roots of substance use — the trauma, stress, and unmet needs underneath — in a judgment-free space, at your pace.

My Approach: Brainspotting and Body-Based Healing

My primary modality is Brainspotting, a powerful, body-based therapy that uses your natural eye positions to access the deeper parts of the brain where trauma and emotional pain are stored. It reaches what talk therapy alone often can't — gently, and at your own pace. Alongside it, I draw on Parts Work and other somatic, evidence-based approaches, always tailored to what your nervous system actually needs.

The throughline in all of it: you're not broken, and healing doesn't mean forcing yourself to be someone else. It means reconnecting with who you already are, underneath everything you learned to do to survive.
