Brainspotting Therapy in
Comstock Park, MI

Some reactions don't make logical sense, but your body remembers. Maybe tension locks into your shoulders when you drive past a certain intersection on Alpine Avenue, your breathing shifts near the old railroad bridge on Mill Creek Trail, or unexpected emotion surfaces when you're sitting in the parking lot near Dwight Lundell Park. These aren't random—they're your nervous system holding onto something unresolved. We use those exact moments, and the physical sensations that come with them, as entry points for deeper processing so healing shows up where you actually live your life in Comstock Park.

I am a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner with more than 400 hours of experience and over 99 hours of training time. Sessions are steady and collaborative. We decide the pace together, keep a clear pause signal, and close with simple practices you can use after a White Pine Trail walk or before the drive home.

How Brainspotting Can Help

  • Calm nervous system responses that show up as chest tightness, shallow breathing, or sudden fatigue.

  • Work through memories that replay when you're trying to focus on work, conversations, or evening routines.

  • Reduce hypervigilance that makes it hard to relax in public spaces or unwind at home.

  • Shift patterns of numbing or disconnection so you feel more present with people and activities that matter.

My Approach

Brainspotting works differently than traditional talk therapy. Instead of analyzing or explaining what happened, we locate where the issue lives in your body and brain—often through eye position, physical sensation, or a specific memory tied to a place you know. Then we stay with it in a focused, regulated way that allows your brain to process what it couldn't before. It's especially effective for trauma, anxiety, chronic pain, performance blocks, and reactions that feel stuck or disproportionate to current circumstances.
