Brainspotting Therapy in Belmont, MI

Some reactions show up in familiar Belmont spots. Maybe your body tenses near the M-44 corridor or along the bend in Jupiter, or you feel a surge of unease at Belmont Center. We use those actual moments as reference points so change translates into daily life.

I am a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner with more than 400 hours of experience and over 75 hours of training time. Sessions are steady and collaborative. We decide the pace together, keep a clear pause signal, and close with simple practices you can use after a White Pine Trail walk or before the drive home.

How Brainspotting Can Help

  • Process stuck emotions that surface without warning during ordinary moments like grocery shopping or sitting in traffic.

  • Calm nervous system responses that show up as chest tightness, shallow breathing, or sudden fatigue.

  • Work through memories that replay when you're trying to focus on work, conversations, or evening routines.

  • Reduce hypervigilance that makes it hard to relax in public spaces or unwind at home.

  • Shift patterns of numbing or disconnection so you feel more present with people and activities that matter.

My Approach

We start with a brief check in and choose one target that shows up in your week, such as tension while walking on the White Pine Trail, or a jolt driving along West River. I help you find a visual focus linked to that reaction, and we confirm a clear pause signal.

You notice what your body does while I watch the pace and keep it tolerable. You can speak a little or stay quiet. We close with a simple grounding you can use right away, like a two minute reset before driving or a quick eyes open settle after work.

FAQ

Do I need to talk through my whole history?

No. We can work quietly and focus on what your body notices. You control the pace and can pause at any time.

Can we combine brainspotting with brief skills on busy weeks?

Yes. We can add short CBT-style tools or quick regulation practices when that fits.

Is online an option if I cannot drive down?

I offer secure telehealth when appropriate. If online is not a fit, we meet in person in Suite 303 on East Beltline.
